Management – Legacy Academy Roswell:

Sam Poyan, MBA – Legacy Academy Franchise Owner/Director

Sam Poyan, MBA - Owner/Director

Since 2009, Sam Poyan has served as the owner and director of Legacy Academy Suwanee Dam. As life-long educators, Sam and her husband, Zack, are committed to bringing an exceptional educational foundation to the Roswell area through their roles at Legacy Academy. This commitment, and love of the culturally historic Roswell community, ignited their desire to open the doors to the new Legacy Academy Roswell franchise, where they welcome you to join their growing Legacy Academy family.

As a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA/In progress) from Argosy University, Sam’s devotion to children and education gave her the opportunity to serve many roles in the classroom, such as the Site Coordinator at the YMCA’s renowned Prime Time program and as a lead teacher in two early learning environments. Sam also taught for the Gwinnett County Public School system for many years, where she independently created and implemented lesson plans, curriculum, and developmental activities for a combined 250-plus elementary-aged school children.

Sam’s commitment to excellent quality care and education for children is embedded in her drive to ensure our future leaders receive the best quality of instruction during their most formative years. Her leadership within Legacy Academy has successfully attained and maintained accreditations from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) , the two most prestigious and independent accrediting agencies known in the early childhood and K-12 sectors.

Sam’s dedication to providing an excellent environment and educational program for young children has led her to establish a visionary learning community for the students she and her team serve.  Legacy Academy Roswell introduces innovative methods to their classrooms and delivers advance exposure to world languages, technology, and hands on learning. By creating this cutting edge, enriched learning environment, Sam’s dedication has established an academy that encourages the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of young children.

A believer in lifelong learning, Zack Poyan brings 25 years of business and higher education experience in his role at Legacy Academy Roswell. As a business professional, certified public accountant, and adjunct professor, Zack has served and taught in all branches of business in the public and private sector, including Emory University and the Boys and Girls Club of America. Currently, Zack serves as an Associate Director for Budget and Finance at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Zack has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management and Accounting from Georgia State University and Kennesaw State University. He also holds Master of Business Administration and Master of Technology Management degrees from Mercer University. In addition, Zack received Master of Public Administration and Master of Accountancy degrees from Kennesaw State University. Recently, Zack received his Doctor of Business Administration in Accounting from Argosy University in Atlanta. He is an active member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Sam and Zack have made their home in Georgia for over 30 years and are the proud parents of two children. In their spare time, the family enjoys exercising, trips to the beach, dining out at new restaurants, visiting local parks, and being active in social and community programs.

They are devoted to the parent-child-teacher relationship, providing an exceptional team builder environment that facilitates positive change, learning, and development. As owners, Sam and Zack also strive to provide a reputation for dynamic, innovative, and high-quality programs that guide and implement advanced curriculum development in the Roswell campus of Legacy Academy.
